The California coast is terrorized by two enormous prehistoric sea creatures as they battle each other for supremacy of the sea. A huge iceberg calves that holds a megalodon (mega shark) and a giant octopus frozen inside it. Deployment of a LFAS (low frequency automatic sonar) unit causes it to shatter. The two behemoths thaw and return to life. The shark terrorizes the California coast while the octopus creates havoc things near Japan. A group of three oceanographers put together a plan to draw the beasts into a trap with pheromones. I haven't found any moment in the movie which reminded me that it could happen in the real life, too. The scene where the three "scientist" mix some different colour liquids without any measuring and the only observation is performed by a microscope which probably was borrowed from the son of a crew member.

The money spent on this piece of crap should be given to some charity, because they could cherish some people not like this movie.

The far worst movie I've seen so far.

The Core seems a real sci-fi comparing to this one, but it is not either. The story is lame.

The relationship between Shimada and Macneil was too fast and only used to justify one part of the end of the movie.

The shark attacking an airplane was forced. The airplane was at cloud altitude yet. This point is where I changed my mind in what to expect from the movie. This looks like the movies I used to like when I was a child.

I think that if the affair between the doctors was removed it would be a success among youngsters.

Even tough, the movie was well directed and the photography is beautiful.
